Educational Platform
The acronym STEM is a curriculum based on the idea of educating children and students within schools, colleges and universities in four specific areas – Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. It is a modern phrase one hears banded around but to inspire the learning mind you need a project for them that they find exciting, thrilling that they can reach out to and see for real. To touch it, hear it, watch it in action and soak up memories that will last a lifetime.
Projects of this nature do not come along very often and indeed it is around half a century since Donald Campbell had students and schoolchildren visiting him at the lakeside to see his jet hydroplane, Bluebird in action within the beautiful Lake District.
To once again fire the imagination of students in these subjects at all levels, we have, just as Campbell did, reached out with this venture and made it available as an education platform. This is not something that the British public will only see running on a YouTube video taken in some far off land, this is a jet hydroplane that will be run right here within the UK on our inland lakes and lochs, again and again for the thrill of watching and hearing the awesome spectacle of a pure thrust jet hydroplane in action.
At present we are in discussions with Blackpool & The Fylde College, University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) and the University of Wolverhampton. If you would like your school, college or university to become involved please contact us directly to discuss how the children and students can become a part of the adventure.
